Super actionable examples. The most dangerous Data Scientists I have worked with either had consulting experience or have at least adopted the toolkit. It's still rare to see this type of well-rounded DS, though, so I hope this post reaches many folks.

This article reminds me of how pilots train on simulators before ever flying real aircraft consulting frameworks offer that same muscle memory for navigating high-stakes, ambiguous business problems. As someone interacting with many founders in the D2C space, I have seen that the data scientists who think in issue trees and communicate with a Minto mindset don’t just analyze better, they steer decisions. The real unlock isn’t technical depth, it’s structured thinking under pressure.

Great article! Never thought about it this way before - consulting experience can really be a fast-track to mastering the "soft" aspects of data scientist's work.
